When in February 1968 The Beatles travelled to Rishikesh, the destiny of the small town by the Ganga changed forever. Their interest in transcendental meditationbecame a significant point changing the attitude of westerners about travelling in India. It was the raw beauty of nature that attracted them most to this much publicised Rishikesh trip. Since then, a lot has changed here. Yoga, meditation, rafting , cliff jumping , flying fox and adventure camping are some of the things / activities that have become synonym to weekend in Rishikesh.
Rishikesh surrounded by Hills on three sides and is a gateway to the Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand. The whole city is considered to be sacred. Yogi, gurus and meditationers dwell in the bylanes that boast of being a part of the land that encourages free thinking. It is here, at Rishikesh, that spiritual knowledge seekers finally free at peace. Fondly known as the world capital of yoga, Rishikesh has more yoga studios than the combined strength of entire northern India.

Adventure camping in Rishikesh: Over the last few years, town has seen a great influx of youngsters visiting it over the weekend from Delhi, Chandigarh and other neighbouring cities. This has given rise to popularity of nature camping which is a great recreational activity without any time limit. Any individual keen on exploring quiet, peaceful places can try camping as it allows time out with nature. Adventure camping surged in Rishikesh about 10 years back when it was still a novel concept in India. However, lot of these camps were built around the beaches of Ganga and were banned by the NGT. Now, only a very few adventure camps run in Rishikesh but they are done so with proper rule following.
Rishikesh is also a place to try rappelling, Rock climbing , cliff jumping, kayaking and trekking. Our camp is about 28 kms from the city center and offers stunning views of the valleys nearby. One of the best times to visit us is during the monsoon when everything is lush green. We get visitors from places as far as Bangalore and Mumbai, and most of them like make the most after time here.
